Dr. Amin Jaafari is an Israeli Arab. He is fully integrated into Tel Aviv society, married to a woman who loves him, has a successful career as a surgeon, and has many Jewish friends. But after a bombing in a Tel Aviv restaurant that kills nineteen people, the Israeli police inform him that his wife was the suicide bomber. Amin initially rejects the accusation, but gradually he is overcome by doubt. His worst fears are confirmed when he receives a posthumous letter from his wife confirming her actions. Devastated by this revelation and wanting to understand how he failed to detect her intentions, Amin decides to travel to the Palestinian Territories to search for those he believes recruited his wife. There, Amin plunges into a dangerous world where he is not welcome, disregarding his own safety in his quest for the truth…
